Many people who suffer  from anxiety report that,  before an anxiety attack starts, they feel  as if they are going to faint. In most cases this does not happen. They then recover quite rapidly. There are, however , people who report that their head seems to be completely empty because they do not know what they have to do, what their task is and they feel helpless. Sometimes this feeling may last for quite a long time.

At least, that is what these sufferers think. There is, obviously, a physical reaction to their anxiety attack. While their heart is rapidly pumping blood to other parts of the body, the head seems to suffer  from less blood coming its way.

In order to make the blood circulate better, there are various small exercises that can immediately bring blood back to the head. One is: pressing the inner edge of the nail of the little finger on either hand. When pressing, do not fear the pain. It is painful, but it is very effective. This strong pressure on a little part of the body, also helps when blood pressure is low. Another small exercise is the massage of the area around the nail of the little finger. This exercise is not so powerful, it does not hurt but it takes more time to get a reaction. Already  the fact that the sufferer has something he/she can do in order to get better, brings this betterment quicker. The sufferer is no longer  a victim, because  their thoughts are occupied with the exercise.

Sometimes, this sensation of empty head goes hand in hand with an unwillingness  to do something. People hang around, they know that  tasks are waiting for them but they just do not react. They seem to be unable to undertake anything.  This sensation may last even for hours. In this case, other small exercises an bring some help. Let the person massage each fingertip. It may hurt a little, but this movement puts every single organ in action, the whole body and also the mind begin to react. At that point, the person may be willing to do some work  and be surprised that they can help themselves to come out of that state of apathy.

Who deals with sufferers from anxiety may encourage the person to do these little exercises and to do them regularly, not only after the anxiety or panic attack  had gone.  Furthermore, a good help is a glass of water to be sipped slowly. It should not be cold but rather lukewarm water, better even with a slice of lemon.

Some of these small exercises come from the ancient Chinese wisdom, some others have been known to  the western world for centuries as well. Put them into practice. The results, in short time, but also and especially in the long run, are really astounding.
